ATTICA. Athens. Circa 454-404 BC. Obol (Silver, 9 mm, 0.70 g, 12 h). Head of Athena to right, wrearing crested Attic helmet decorated with three olive leaves and palmette. Rev. ΑΘ[E] Owl standing right, head facing; to left, olive sprig with fruit; all within incuse square. HGC 4, 1665. Kroll 13. SNG Copenhagen 53-6. Svoronos pl. 12, 40-2. A charming example, well struck and attractively toned. Struck on a somewhat irregular flan and with minor porosity, otherwise, good very fine.
